shadows chris cross my journey

call has a chilly
quivery sound

excitements still here

early morning breath
as i stroll my way to work
breathing misty clouds

tethered green star shapes
nourished by the grey spring clouds

stepping from the car
hearth smells permeate my nose
in cold autumn air

transcends from flame to dryness
completing the mulch

i see your struggle
painted in red so vibrant
on dry autumn leaves

i want the leaves back
and the ants to show their tracks
of springtime wanders

expanding circles
the ripples so engrossing

releasing all leaves
sustaining the energy
for new life to come

racing the shadows

accepting greyness

battered by the wind
accepting the cutting cold

swirling gorgeous leaves
